Making Mini Scarecrows

We are getting ready for our open day as part of the Chelsea Fringe. www.chelseafringe.com/event/how-does-our-playground-grow/
We decided to make mini scarecrows to decorate the beds and welcome people to our garden.

We used old socks, straw and two lengths of bamboo.

We stuffed the socks with straw and tied them on with string. We snipped two holes in the sock and pushed the 'arms' through.

Some people made little jackets out of other bits of old sock.

Other people made little hats and scarfs to keep out the cold wind.

Soon there were lots of mini scarecrow people. We had time to do a bit of watering and sow some salad seed.

If you want to make your own mini scarecrow, buy plants, eat cake or just look at what we are growing come along to Lauriston School on Saturday May 18th.
